Success in business today requires a healthy balance of revenue growth and internal cost reduction. That is, customers are willing to provide growth opportunities, however they expect reduced costs and increased service at the same time. This means that not only do we need to plan for growth, but we also need to eliminate waste, reduce costs and create processes that strive for business excellence.

To meet this challenge, many organizations have recognized the value in Teamwork, Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six Sigma quality programs in the supply chain.  The challenge however is that many of these initiatives can seem overwhelming in their implementation.  In fact, many of the sophisticated elements of these programs are not even required in some organizations, yet we push through the complicated initiatives blindly. We do so without a strategy!

Supply Chain excellence means to deliver the highest quality to the customer at the lowest possible cost to the organization. This requires a comprehensive understanding of your customer and a rigorous program for internal waste identification and elimination. To accomplish this, organizations need talented and trained employees working as a team. Secondly, the organization needs a defined Supply Chain Strategy that is unique and tailored to the specific needs of the organization, the team members and the customer.
