Demand Drives ZF Steering Past Planned Expansion (Cincinnati Business Courier)
“So in addition to its own expansion, it’s now contracting with Florence-based LeanCor LLC to operate a 100,000-square-foot facility in Hebron that delivers materials and parts hourly to its three Florence plants. Robert Martichenko, LeanCor’s CEO, said planning for the ZF facility began last fall, and the work started up in February. LeanCor runs a similar operation for Whirlpool Corp. in Iowa, he said. The one in Hebron is a dedicated facility just for ZF and employs 50 to 75 people at any given time. ‘To call it a warehouse is a misnomer, because that suggests storing things,’ Martichenko said. ‘It’s more like a flow-through facility.’ LeanCor coordinates all the incoming material from hundreds of ZF suppliers. The suppliers ship materials to Hebron, and LeanCor sends ‘exactly what it needs, exactly when it needs it’ to ZF, Martichenko said.”
